This special event explores why the atrocities in Darfur continue and what role artists, intellectuals, and other witnesses can play to end the genocide. Actress and activist Mia Farrow and acclaimed public intellectual Bernard-Henri Lévy will speak of their visits to the war-torn region and their urgent work to end the genocide—ongoing since 2003—by mobilizing public opinion and leveraging governments and international bodies. Their speeches will be followed by a discussion on what must be done to definitively end the killing. Dinaw Mengestu, author of The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears, will moderate the discussion.
