Lecture: The Obama Factor: Race, Law, and Voting Rights
Gloria J. Browne-Marshall traces the quest for political participation by Blacks and other racial groups from colonial period to present. Her book, Race, Law, and American Society: 1607 to Present uses U.S. court cases as history lessons on legal oppression and protection of minority rights in the areas of voting, education, civil liberties, property ownership, military, criminal justice, and internationalism.
Browne-Marshall's lecture is part of a NYCLA series on diverse topics. CLE credit is available for attorneys.
