Born in Budapest, in 1950, Péter Esterházy is one of the best-known contemporary Hungarian writers, and his work stands with some of the greatest postwar literature. His novel Revised Edition was born from the shock he received when he discovered that his father was an informer for the Hungarian secret police during the Communist era. He’ll talk about family secrets with Wayne Koestenbaum, whose titles include Best-Selling Jewish Porn Films, Model Homes, The Milk of Inquiry, Rhapsodies of a Repeat Offender, the novel Moira Orfei in Aigues-Mortes, and six nonfiction books: Hotel Theory, Andy Warhol, Cleavage, Jackie Under My Skin, The Queen’s Throat, and Double Talk. Introduced by Morgan Meis.
