Paragraph is honored and thrilled to host a reading with master fiction writers A.M. Homes and Anthony Schneider at Clay, followed by a wine and cheese reception at Paragraph. Free and open to the public.
A.M. Homes is the author of the novels, The End of Alice, In a Country of Mothers, Jack, and This Book Will Save Your Life, as well as the acclaimed short story collection The Safety of Objects, and an artist's book entitled Appendix A. Her most recent book, The Mistress's Daughter, tells the riveting true story of Homes' adoption and the fallout when her biological family came looking for her. It is a story about what it means to be adopted, but also of identity and how all of us define our sense of self and family. Her work has been translated into eight languages and is widely anthologized. Homes' fiction and non-fiction appear frequently in numerous magazines including Art Forum, Bomb, Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Mirabella, The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, and Vanity Fair.
Anthony Schneider, a master of the short-short, has been published in McSweeney’s, The Reading Room, The Believer, Details,BoldType, and Mid-American Review. A Pushcart Prize finalist, his fiction has been included in the anthologies The Encyclopedia of Exes and The Literary Insomniac. His tightly woven stories contain revelation upon revelation. He is also, the author of Tony Soprano on Management, which has been published in six languages. Raised in South Africa, he now lives in New York City.
