The Future of American Conservatism

Richard Brookhiser, senior editor at National Review, Sam Tanenhaus, editor of the New York Times Book Review and PEN Member, and David Frum, a former speech writer for President George W. Bush, discuss what it means to be a conservative in America today, and how that will shape the Republican party of tomorrow.

Sam Tanenhaus is an American author, historian and biographer. He was an assistant editor at “The New York Times”, a contributing editor at “Vanity Fair”, and has been the senior editor of “The New York Times Book Review.” His 1997 biography of Whittaker Chambers won the “Los Angeles Times Book Prize” and was a finalist for both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Biography.

Tanenhaus is also the author of many books. He wrote “Literature Unbound”, “Louis Armstrong (Black Americans of Achievement)”, and “Old Greenwich Village: An Architectural Portrait."
