PEN member Thomas McGuane will read from Driving on the Rim. Narrator Berl Pickett is a house painter turned doctor who lives most of his life in Livingston, Montana, struggling to overcome a "gruesome immaturity" that causes him to relate poorly to his fellow citizens. From one of America's most acclaimed literary figures ("an important as well as brilliant novelist" -The New York Times Book Review), Driving on the Rim is a major new novel that hilariously takes the pulse of our times.

Thomas McGuane is a PEN member and the author of nine novels, several works of nonfiction, and two collections of stories. His works include Driving on the Rim, Gallatin Canyon and The Cadence of Grass.
