Wang Rongqing
Magazine editor, arrested June 25, 2008 and charged on July 31, 2008 with “subverting state power” for his work in the China Democracy Party and for his online writings. Wang was sentenced to six years in prison and two years’ deprivation of political rights on January 8, 2009, and is being held in the Prison General Hospital of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, where he is reportedly suffering from renal failure. Family visits have been denied.
