Although there was insufficient evidence to support the charges, Wei was sentenced to one year and nine months of “reeducation through labor” on August 26, 2008, for allegedly “gambling and frequenting prostitutes” several years ago. He was released from the Yuhang Detention Center for Reeducation Through Labor, Yuhang County, Zhejiang Province, on January 15, 2010. |
