PEN World Voices Festival Advertising & Promotional Opportunities

Now entering its seventh year, Salman Rushdie’s World Voices Festival has morphed from a festival of literature into a cultural experience. Every March for the past seven years, more than 20,000 brochures are sent to Tri-State area culture lovers of the A/B demographic. Twenty-thousand more brochures are distributed at important cultural events, such as 92nd Street Y events and the NYPL in the weeks leading up to the Festival.

Highlights of the 2011 World Voices Festival:

Audiences will experience the world from a new vantage point as PEN World Voices Festival comes to the Highline and its surrounding neighborhood for the first time ever.

New and exciting partners include: The Standard Hotel, Chelsea Piers, Friends of the High Line, Highline Ballroom, Asia Society, New York Public Library, Westbeth, Trust for a Mutual Understanding, and others.

Confirmed participants for the 2011 World Voices Festival include: Harold Bloom, Hanif Kureishi, Vladimir Sorokin, John Irving, Cynthia Ozick, Irvine Welsh, Elif Shafak, Malcolm Gladwell, Wallace Shawn, Wole Soyinka, and many more.

The 2011 World Voices Festival commemorates PEN America’s most important conference, the 1986 International PEN Congress, lead by then-President Norman Mailer and attended by Susan Sontag, Grace Paley, Charles Shulz, and others. The 2011 Festival organizes a day-long Working Day to discuss the most burning issues of the intellectual landscape.
