Join the editors of Granta, Tin House, and PEN America—along with contributors to those magazines—for a freewheeling conversation about the past, present, and future of literary magazines, both in the United States and abroad. For two centuries now, literary magazines have played essential roles in the lives and careers of writers, editors, and readers—introducing and nurturing new authors, providing outlets for writers both overlooked and established, and publishing groundbreaking work that might not otherwise find a readership. How are those tasks changing in the internet age? And how does the job of the literary magazine vary across continents? John Freeman of Granta, Rob Spillman of Tin House, and M Mark of PEN America is joined by writer Rodrigo Fresán and writer and editor Peter Stamm in a conversation moderated by David Haglund.
