ShogdungWriter, intellectual, and editor at the Qinghai Nationalities Publishing House in Xining whose views closely aligned with the Chinese government, detained April 23, 2010, after he signed an open letter critical of the government’s relief efforts following the April 14 Yushu earthquake. Tagyal also recently published a book, Namsa Ko Jed (The Line Between Sky and Earth), which indicts the government’s policies in Tibet, specifically since the 2008 Tibetan uprisings.
