Det har ventet på deg, a short novel by Nils Johan Rud, was published in 1988 and written when the author was in his 80s. A widower returns to his home village to decide what to do with the family farm. There he encounters the woman he loved as a young man, but could not marry because of her father's opposition. A story of universal appeal, economically told and beautifully written.
