Dilshat Perhat
Internet writer, founder and editor of the Uighur-language web site Diyarim.com, detained in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region, on August 7, 2009. He was found guilty of “endangering state security” for publishing politically sensitive material on the riots that rocked Urumqi a month prior. On July 21, 2010, Perhat was sentenced to five years in prison. His current whereabouts are unknown.
