I have been a working writer for more thn two decades. Books, articles, lots of ghosting. Recently I lost my husband after an awful long illness, and I stopped writing nonfiction. Now I keep turning out these stories and these plays, I keep trying to finish this novel. Maybe it's the feeling of worlds ending, time ending, that makes it impossible to write anything that does not feel vitally important. (Sure is hard to make a living with these revised priorities.) Currently I have an essay in the new anthology Why I'm Still Married, eds Trounstine and Propp.
